With a passion for feeding the community, farming hard and in memory of our dear friend Robby, Rootin Tootin Acres was born.

Hello!

Welcome to Rootin Tootin Acres! My husband Alex and I, Angie, have made our way back to Vermont and are so stoked to be putting our roots back in home soil!

We have been living in Portland, Oregon for the past decade where we managed farms, ran a catering business and started a brick & mortar restaurant downtown with Alex’s brother Karl. After building up the business and gearing up for the biggest summer yet - covid year 2020 hit - stopping all events, weddings + any sort of catering gig we had. Opposite of that world, the farm I had been managing, give it up for Vibrant Valley Farm, took off running. People sourced local, fresh food since going to the grocery store was thought to be unsafe and unreliable as many shelves were completely bare. After growing produce only on a wholesale level, we quickly shifted gears and created a CSA program that filled up within days. Being able to feed the community during such uncertain times made me realize that I would be digging in the dirt getting food to my communities homes, for the rest of time. After two years of wild covid times we decided to pack up our life in Portland, it was time to go home. We sold every piece of furniture we had (other than our beloved farm table of course), filled up a trailer full of tposts, hog fencing, chicken feeders and dirtbikes, threw the dogs in the back of the truck and sent it straight 54 hours to Vermont. We’re home.

After moving back from the PNW in the fall of 2021 we set out to bring our community sustainable, delicious and beautiful farm-grown goods. Our farm is located in the hills of Tinmouth, Vermont where we are excited to be building a small scale silvopasture system on our 50 acres. We focus on growing an array of produce that excites the culinary world + at home chefs, flowers pesticide & herbicide free and raising heritage breed pigs. We are dedicated to be farming in a way that focuses on soil, animal and crop health and are continuing to learn how to better integrate food production in a regenerative way.

Rootin Tootin comes to life after my best friend Robby, who left us in 2019. Robby was one of those people that once you met him you never forgot him. From farming in Honduras, at the Interval Farm in Vermont and in Northern California, to snowboarding and traveling around the world, Robby always left a lasting impression. I was lucky enough to get to grow up with Robby, to move out to California with him and enjoy everything in between together. We always talked about moving back to VT and starting our little farm together - so Rob this ones for you buddy! HiFRiEND

We will be growing to produce food + meats for our families, friends & events on and off farm. We hope to see you around our table sometime soon!
